Cropredy - Wardington - Williamscot 5.5 miles completed at last!

We had an excellent ramble. However got the start point wrong. It is corrected below, on ViewRanger and on the maps on the WDU3A website.

Our walk is longer than the one in the leaflet above

Take the M40 South. At J11 (Banbury) take the first left onto the A361 towards Daventry. After about 2.6 miles take a left to Cropredy. After 1.2 miles turn right.  Park at CROPREDY SPORTS FIELD, The Plantation.

Walk into the village from the Sports Ground Car Park. After crossing the canal bridge turn right, walk up the lane known as Round Bottom until you see The Wharf House on your right.  The brickwork of this house is in the style known as “Flemish Bond”. Continue walking to the end of the lane and at the bridge look across the canal to Riverside Cottages. Cross the bridge.

THURSDAY 23rd March - Cropredy - Wardington - Williamscot 5.2 miles

Hopefully we will actually do the walk this time!

I have not done this walk before. It looks very good from the map. It is a so called battlefield walk.

Please email me to let me know whether you are able to attend.

Please give me a ring if you wish to share transport. I am going to pick up those who live along Myton road. Walk starts around 10.15 a.m. Cropredy is about 20 miles from Warwick (36 mins drive)
