Luddington to Stratford 5.5 miles Wed 30 Dec

To finish the year:
Thatched cottages, woodland, ancient pathways and tracks, willow plantations, brooks, good views and finally a riverside walk. This last section passes through many private gardens of interesting houses with good views of the Avon. We could add an extra half mile at the end to visit Luddington locks behind the church. I suggest a good pensioners lunch at the nearby Bell at Shottery.

Meet at my house at 9.15 a.m.  It will take 35/40 mins to get there. It is a new walk so we will need to find parking. So it will be a proper test of navigational skills. Hope to see you then.

Turn off A422 to Shenington, turn right, right again, left near a church, and park near the Bell Inn (I hope)

Maxstoke (Hill Farm) - Parsons wood 5 miles

We had an excellent day out. Good company. Bluebells everywhere in the woods. No stiles!! Did not see any deer this time. Had a very good roast at the Cottage in Kenilworth for 4.95. Would recommend this as a spring walk.

Luddington to Stratford 6 miles (or 5.5 miles) Wed 24 March

We had an excellent, varied walk planned by Brian on a fine day. Thatched cottages, woodland, ancient pathways and tracks, willow plantations, brooks, good views and finally a riverside walk. This last section passed through many private gardens of interesting houses with good views of the Avon. We added on an extra half mile at the end to visit Luddington locks behind the church. A good picnic spot with benches. We had a good pensioners lunch at the nearby Bell at Shottery.

Oxhill - Pillerton Priors 4.9 miles 24 Feb

The weather forecast said sunny day. It was really windy and cold at 10 a.m. Lots of mud in ploughed fields after wet weather. It was still a good walk. It was better when we did it in summer. We had a good lunch at the Wellesbourne airport cafe. The White Lion in Ettington is currently closed on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes.
