During Covid rules

We are still rambling but obeying the rules. So currently there is a maximum of two walkers on a ramble. I have not posted details of all walks as many have been near to our homes on roads.

Maps of all walks, including winter walks can be found via

at Wdu3a walks

Stay well!

Dover's Hill to Broad Campden 5.6 miles Thursday 5th Sep 2019

This is a good walk. There are excellent views from Dover's hill and on the descent into Chipping Campden. An exceptionally beautiful Cotswold town. Make sure you divert a little to see the market hall as you pass through.

Snowshill - Shenbarrow hill 5.2 miles July 2019

From Warwick, turn right into Broadway main street and then left signposted Snowshill. Park in the public car park. Snowshill Manor NT car park is nearby.

Swalcliffe - Tadmarton Heath 5.5 miles Thurs 1st Aug 2019

This walk has excellent open views. In August we walked clockwise through purple fields of borage and fields of flax (or linseed). We walked part of a Roman road and passed by Swalcliffe Lea (ponds).  There were more good views as we progressed from Tadmarton towards Tadmarton Heath. Nearing the end of the walk we passed through fields used for equestrian events and to the right (East) of Hill Farm, near some caravans. This part is not waymarked very well. Just after Hill Farm there is a little valley, with steep sides separating the farm from Swalcliffe. Make your way carefully down and go to the far right (East) of the row of properties and make your way back to the start. (There is an alternative path, which we took,  through the middle of the properties. It goes through two private gardens)

Park in the Tithings at Swalcliffe barn in Swalcliffe on the B4035 road between Banbury and Shipston-on-Stour.

I can recommend the beef sandwiches at the Stag's Head. It has a nice beer garden with good views across a valley.

Cherington to Margett's hill 5.4 miles Thursday 20 June

This was a good walk with excellent views from Margett's hill. There was a lot of tall grass to plough through. There was a lot of discussion at the southernmost waypoint about which way to go. It turned out I had planned the route on an old OS using a short stretch of path. However, on newer OS maps the path had been diverted!

ViewRanger shortcode 0370

From now on walks will be on the first Thursday in the month.  This day is more convenient for some members who walk with the longer distance groups.
